Ex-roommate of George Santos claims he had “grandiose delusions” and stole a scarf

A former roommate of disgraced Rep. George Santos of Long Island stated on Tuesday that the now-Republican congressman suffered from “grandiose delusions,” was frequently broke, and used a different name during their brief cohabitation.

Gregory Morey-Parker stated on “CNN This Morning” that he met Santos in 2013 and accepted his offer to live with him for a few months while he searched for a new apartment in Astoria, Queens.

Morey-Parker told co-host Don Lemon, “It’s been an incredibly intriguing few months.”

Gregory Morey-Parker, a former roommate of New York Representative George Santos, stated on Tuesday that the fabulist politician displayed symptoms of “grandiose delusions” during their time together in Astoria.

“I suppose the biggest thing I took away from it was just grandiose delusions,” the former roommate said. “Like, he would go to bars with $100 bucks in rolls, and three days later, he would be broke.

“Or, you know, he would repeat over and over, ‘Oh, well, you know, I’m going to sell my phone. Do you know anyone interested in purchasing it?’ And I’m thinking, “Well, why are you selling it?” Oh, well, he says, “Don’t worry about it.”

Morey-Parker continued, “His mother was a housekeeper in Manhattan, and it just didn’t make sense for him to supposedly come from all this generational wealth, if you will.”

Morey-Parker stated that during this time, Santos was known as “Anthony Devolder,” a combination of his middle name and his mother’s maiden name.

The former roommate stated, “I’ve never known him as George Santos.”

Santos has acknowledged to lying about his employment, schooling, and religion, as well as a claim that he owned 13 properties and was a real estate mogul.

Indeed, the freshman member was so cash-strapped that he admitted stealing $12,000 from a Queens landlord.

Gregory Morey-Parker, a former roommate of Santos, reported that Santos wore his own Burberry scarf to a “Stop the Theft” demonstration.

“I assumed that he had fabricated the fact that he attended Baruch and NYU. “But then I thought, ‘Well, maybe I was wrong,’ you know, after the election, because I’m sure the DCCC and RNC would have investigated him, and at the very least, his opponent would have done opposition research,” Morey-Parker said.

“I don’t understand. Did he visit each constituent in his district and literally pull the wool over their eyes? Like how? it’s really flabbergasting.”

Santos is the subject of multiple investigations concerning his campaign deceptions and the dubious origins of his 2022 campaign funds. Democrats and Nassau County Republicans have urged him to stand down, but he has refused.

Morey-Parker also asserted that Santos stole his designer scarf and wore it while delivering a speech in Washington the day before the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot – a speech in which Santos asserted that his own defeat in the 2020 House election was illegitimate.

“I do miss my Burberry scarf with stone-checked pattern, yet at the same time. According to Morey-Parker, they are not focusing enough on the issues at hand. “You know, where did all this money for the campaign come from?

“You know, the entire situation is rather confusing to me. I mean how he even became president.”

Santos did deny one part of the interview, telling Lemon that he had never stolen anything in his life, including the scarf.
