COVID-19-related deaths decreased by 9% in past week: WHO

GENEVA, 10th August, 2022 (WAM) — The number of new weekly deaths decreased by 9 percent, with over 14,000 fatalities reported, as compared to the previous week, according to the latest weekly report issued by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The report further revealed that, as of 7 August 2022, 581.8 million confirmed cases and 6.4 million deaths have been reported globally, as the past week saw over 6.9 million new cases added.
