South Africa has recorded 372 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths, of which two occurred in the past 48 hours

372 new COVID-19 cases and three fatalities—two of which happened in the previous 48 hours—have been reported in South Africa.

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) reports that this brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 4,001,816 and the death toll to 101,942.

The Western Cape comes in second with 84 infections each day, followed by the Eastern Cape with 41, KwaZulu-Natal with 37, and Gauteng with 142 infections in the last 24 hours. Less than 20 instances were documented in the remaining provinces.

Additionally, on Thursday, 10 more patients were admitted to the hospital, bringing the total number of people undergoing COVID-19 treatment in hospitals to 1 037.

The data is based on 25 913 254 tests that were carried out in both the public and private sectors.

The country administered 15 684 vaccinations, of which 3 216 were provided to youngsters between the ages of 12 and 17.
