Civil Service Day: Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, awards to three (3) outstanding Ministry officers,

The Civil Service Day celebration, according to Dr. Mrs. Ifeoma Adaora Anyanwutaku, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, is to recognize excellence, honesty, diligence to duty, resourcefulness, innovation, creativity, courage, and commitment to the ethics of the public service among civil servants.

Dr. Anyanwutaku made the remarks at the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture’s 2022 Civil Service Day Celebration and Award Ceremony, held at the National Press Centre, Radio House, Abuja.

She emphasized the significance of the occasion in honoring the Federal Civil Service, as well as recognizing, rewarding, and motivating officials from the Ministry of Information and Culture who have gone above and beyond in carrying out their responsibilities properly.

It also attempted to track civil officials’ performance in order to ensure that they are working successfully to meet the statutory missions of their many Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

Anyanwutaku stated that Nigeria’s success and future are dependent on the quality of its civil service, and that everything possible should be done to encourage civil servants to do their best in order to ensure an efficient, purposeful, incorruptible, citizen-centered civil service that meets expectations in the implementation of government plans, policies, and programs.

Earlier, Mrs. Marian Nwokocha, Director Human Resource Management, stated that the Public Service remains the most powerful and viable tool available for the creation and implementation of government policies and programs throughout Africa and beyond.

As a result, it is a call to public officials to take advantage of the possibilities provided by the Service to expand their knowledge, skills, and competencies in order to carry out their tasks and obligations to the best of their abilities.

She also stated that the Ministry will recognize and honor officers who have been diligent in their tasks, and she urged all officers to be conscientious in their duties and strive to be the best.

The presentation of awards to three (3) outstanding Ministry officers, Ugochi Nwakaego Akudo-Nwosu, Deputy Director, Entertainment and Creative Services Department, Comrade Ambrose Achoba, Senior Executive Officer Human Resources Department, and Mrs. Adeshina Deborah Sesan, Sectional Head, Capital, Finance and Accounts Department, was the highlight of the event.
