Mr. Obafemi Ogunlana, Permanent Secretary/Auditor-General for Local Governments says the state government is commited to training Auditors in the Civil Service

Mr. Obafemi Ogunlana, Permanent Secretary/Auditor-General for Local Governments, has reinforced the State Government’s commitment to organising more capacity-building programmes for Civil Service Auditors.

Ogunlana spoke during a three-day in-house training organised by the Office of the Auditor-General for Local Governments and Bold Perception Integrated Resource Limited for team members in core Audit Directorates.

The Permanent Secretary noted that the capacity-building programme would emphasise professional and general modules to keep auditors up-to-date on the new audit template’s processes and procedures.

His words: “It is expedient to further acclimatise auditors with the on-going restructuring introduced to understand the modus operandi of their roles in the transition process. The training is geared towards a clearer interpretation of the new Audit engagement template and its effective implementation in carrying out audit functions in Local Governments/Local Council Development Areas/Local Government Education Authorities and other Allied Agencies”.

“The capacity-building programme was also designed to focus on soft skill professional topics to keep Auditors abreast of the Public Service Rules, Work Ethics, Team Building/Bonding and work-life balance to enhance effective and efficient productive life”, he added.

The training programme exposed the participants to best practises in their respective professional pathways and acquainted them with the specifics of their job responsibilities.
