Chiefs: Zwane on his possible dismissal

Chiefs: Zwane on his possible dismissal

It is one of the most desirable job positions in South Africa. Arthur Zwane, head coach of the Kaizer Chiefs, discussed the possibility of losing the chance to lead Amakhosi.

Zwane told the media after the 4-0 loss to AmaZulu and before this weekend’s match against Mamelodi Sundowns that his job and future at Naturena are fairly secure.

“To be frank, I’m not afraid; our club has a plan that needs to be executed; if we go back, how many years have we tried to get off to a fast start? Was it successful for the club? It failed,” Zwane remarked, as quoted by Lorenz Kohler of iDiskiTimes.

“Whether you like it or not, we must take action, and there are clubs in Europe that can serve as an example; like Arsenal; why are they doing so well now? Because they had so much patience and faith in anybody they chose for the position.

“They give him the opportunity and space to try to figure things out, and the results are plain to see.” I have no desire to compare… I am merely using Arsenal as an example; I am not claiming that we can replicate their success.

“We have a plan, we want to execute the plan, and you’ll have to pay the price in terms of results, which will fluctuate because you’re trying to get something started and enhance some aspects. If you don’t get it right [during the process], someone else will be able to provide outcomes in the future.”

The former winger continued by emphasizing that his function is an integral element of a comprehensive effort that will evolve over time.

“In the future, there will be a manner of playing, an identity, and the system will profile players [to sign] and coaches. It’s not about Arthur Zwane or individuals; it’s about the club’s future,” he continued.

Additionally, the Amakhosi transfer signing of the day occurred on January 17th.

“I’m not scared about losing my job since I understood when I assumed this position that I would need to give others a chance. Zwane continued, “I did not know how long I would be in this position, but I have a task to complete and I’m doing exactly what the team has asked of me.”
