Arthur Zwane has outperformed three of his predecessors as head coach of the Kaizer Chiefs

Arthur Zwane is in the hot seat for the Kaizer Chiefs, although his record is not exactly THAT poor. However, let’s put that in context.

EISH: Kaizer Chiefs supporters must modify their expectations.

Chiefs supporters have had enough of some players!

Zwane’s points per game (PPG) might be far lower. Here is a look at several recent Amakhosi managers, their PPG averages and the number of league matches they presided over:

Baxter’s 1st spell – 2.03 PPG (110 games)
Middendorp – 1.75 PPG (60 games)
Komphela – 1.60 PPG (112 games)
Zwane – 1.53 PPG (19 games)
Baxter’s 2nd spell — 1.50 PPG (26 games)
Solinas – 1.40 PPG (20 games)
Hunt – 1.20 PPG (44 games)

Is it time to be patient with Arthur Zwane, or has enough been endured? Stuart Baxter is the last manager to lead Amakhosi to the league championship. Mamelodi Sundowns are setting such high standards that Chiefs’ 2.03 PPG would only position them in second place in the current standings. After 16 games in 2022-23, they have accumulated 40 points, losing just 8 of a possible 48.

The Kaizer Chiefs are the Manchester United of South Africa.

Despite this, the ultimate test for any Chiefs manager is trophy and glory. The Glamour Boys are unlikely to achieve either of these this season. Zwane’s 1.53 PPG average is not terrible, but it is based on a sample size of only 19 matches.

What is your opinion, Chiefs fans?
