Betty White’s former home in Los Angeles was demolished

Betty White’s former California residence no longer exists.

The property of the late famous comedian, which was sold last year, has been reduced to rubble by its new owners.

Sunday, White’s assistant announced on the actress’ social media accounts, which she currently manages, that the Brentwood home Betty purchased in 1968 has been demolished.

“Hello everybody! I owe a post (or two), I know,” Kiersten Mikelas wrote a photo posted on her late boss’ Instagram before stating that the delay is partially due to the pain of approaching the one-year anniversary of White’s passing on New Year’s Eve, 2021, at the age of 99. This time of year is so hectic, and the approaching anniversary of Betty’s death is affecting me in ways I did not foresee.

The five-bedroom, yellow-shuttered, 1952-built home that White and her third husband Allen Ludden acquired jointly, the report says, “is no longer standing” (save the fireplaces which will be gone in short order). I guarantee a magnificent ode to our most enchanting lady very soon!!!”

Four months after White’s death, the property was listed in April with Marlene Okulick Sotheby’s International Realty – Pacific Palisades Brokerage, marking the first time in fifty years that it was available for sale. It sold in June for nearly $100,000 more than its asking price of $10.67 million.

Several months after White’s demise, the property was sold for more than the asking price.

The residence had an in-ground pool that has since been dismantled.

The Post noted at the time that the property was offered as a teardown and would be sold for land value, offering owners the opportunity to erect a new building on the flat site. Prospective buyers were unable to enter the 3,029-square-foot home during tours, but it was believed to feature a room filled with stuffed animals, a testament to White’s lifelong affection for animals.

In addition, it included an in-ground pool, rich landscaping, and a front gate.

In addition to her Brentwood residence, White also owned a property in Carmel, California at the time of her passing. The Carmel property was posted in March and sold inside a matter of weeks.
