Balaclava-clad knifeman intrudes on sleeping family [Video]

This is the terrifying moment a balaclava-clad knifeman walked into a sleeping family’s living room.

While homeowner Jason Skilling, 53, was sleeping in his living room in Chadderton, Greater Manchester, CCTV video showed a guy in a balaclava roaming about with a knife.

The video shows the guy gazing over at Mr Skilling, who was fast sleeping, and then adjusting his balaclava while staring at the camera. The family believes the guy did not take anything and just went about the living area.

‘My mom had checked the cameras that they have in the home to monitor their dogs while they are away,’ said Adelle’s daughter Ashleigh Jones.

She’d seen a man wandering around the front room with a large knife as my stepfather slept on the chair.

‘It’s terrifying, and my mother is devastated.’ ‘What if we did wake up?’ she wonders.
She also said that the family has ‘upped their security’ at their house in the aftermath of the terrible occurrence.

‘They are always monitoring the cameras and making sure everything is functioning,’ said Ashleigh, 33.

‘When they lock up at night, my mother double-checks that everything is locked up before she goes to bed.’

‘My six-year-old kid is afraid; he continues bringing it up and refers to the man as a serial murderer since he carries a knife.’

‘When I viewed the footage, my immediate reaction was, what if Jason had woken up?’

My mother doesn’t sleep well, so she occasionally walks downstairs at 3 a.m. for a cup of tea.

‘It’s all quite concerning knowing that guy was present.’

‘It’s surreal to think that someone has been in a place like that so near to you.’

‘I’m telling you what occurred because it’s hot and I know a lot of people who leave their windows open, stay up late at night, and then fall asleep on the couch.’

‘There are older persons who wake up at 3 a.m. and walk out into the garden.’ You are no longer secure in your own house since the world has become so hazardous.’

The Greater Manchester Police Department has been approached for comment.
