According to RTL, a police officer opened fire on the knifeman, who was treated by emergency personnel. He was transported away from the area but died as a result of his injuries.

‘Officers neutralised a threatening man in possession of a knife at the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport this morning,’ stated the Paris police department on Twitter.

According to reports, officials are not considering it as a terrorist event. According to an airport source, the incident happened about 8:20 a.m. (0620 GMT) at the crowded Terminal 2F, when ‘a homeless guy began pestering security personnel and border police were brought in to remove him.’

The guy first departed while muttering profanity, but he soon returned and pulled out a knife, at which point one of the policemen discharged his pistol.

A huge individual ‘brandished something that looked like a knife at the cops,’ according to an AFP new agency photographer who observed the incident. ‘He was told to halt, but he continued to advance toward them, and a cop fired a single shot,’ he claimed.

According to the photographer, the guy was soon placed on a stretcher and transported.

However, it was subsequently determined that he died as a result of his injuries.

According to the Paris-based daily Le Parisien, border officers discovered the homeless guy while monitoring the airport in the early hours of the morning.

According to reports, the guy attempted to punch one of the cops before retrieving a knife and striking another officer.

The cop retaliated by shooting his pistol, wounding the guy in the abdomen.

The guy, thought to be in his 40s, has been observed around the region ‘for a long time,’ according to Le Parisien. He has allegedly been displaying growing symptoms of hostility recently.

Since a wave of jihadist assassinations murdered more than 250 people in France since 2015, security services have been on high alert for terrorist strikes, typically by so-called “lone wolves” who often target police.

The country’s bloodiest single terrorist assault occurred in November 2015, when 130 innocent individuals were slaughtered in Paris.

Suicide bombers swearing loyalty to ISIS attacked the Stade de France, cafés, restaurants, and the Bataclan concert hall, killing 90 people.

Earlier this year, two Paris-born terrorists affiliated to Al-Qaeda stormed the offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, killing 17 inside and three outside.

In July 2016, a 19-tonne truck was purposely drove into crowds on Nice’s oceanfront promenade, about 20 miles from Cannes, injuring more than 400 people.

The terrorist was identified as a Tunisian immigrant who was killed by police.

During a church service in Normandy that month, two Isis terrorists killed an 86-year-old Catholic priest.

At October 2020, three people were stabbed to death in Nice’s Notre Dame basilica by a Tunisian immigrant.

There have also been several knife assaults against law enforcement, resulting in the deaths of service officers.
