Alligator Greek man is charged with multiple drug and firearm offences

On February 24, Townsville Tactical Crime Squad officers arrested and charged a 32-year-old man from Alligator Creek with multiple drug and firearm offences. This followed a five-month-long operation, and the execution of a warrant in Mount Elliot Drive the previous Friday.

During the operation, the police seized a large quantity of drugs and firearms, as well as cash and ammunition, from the Alligator Creek property. The haul included 13 firearms, over $118,000 in cash, a quantity of unlawful pharmaceuticals, more than one gram of cocaine, and more than 800 grams of Methylamphetamines, which had an estimated street value of around $800,000.

The man was charged with a range of offences, including possessing firearms and drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, and receiving stolen property. He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on April 14.

The investigation into the matter is ongoing, and further information may be released later. The seizure of such a large quantity of drugs and firearms is a significant victory for the police, and highlights the ongoing efforts to combat crime in the local community.
