An alleged drug dealer was shot dead shortly after leaving a bar on Wick Street in Verulam CBD, KwaZulu-Natal, according to reports.

The incident happened in the early hours of 15 April, and the victim was discovered by members of Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa), who arrived on the scene at around 00:27.

Rusa revealed that a witness said the man was a drug dealer operating in the area.

According to the witness, the deceased was shot by one of three men who stopped next to him shortly after he exited the bar.

The men were traveling in a silver BMW, and one of the passengers shot the man once before they fled the scene.

Rusa added that a single spent 9mm cartridge was recovered at the scene.
