A football fan told a fantastic tale about former Premier League manager Alan Curbishley discovering his wallet on the subway.

Oli Swift, a supporter of Walsall FC, had the all-too-common misfortune of losing his wallet on the London Tube. Curbishley, the former manager of West Ham and Charlton, discovered it, much to the shock of the man.

The 65-year-old sent the misplaced item to Bescot Stadium in the West Midlands after realizing he supported Walsall.

Oli tweeted, “Of all people, Alan Curbishley recovered my wallet on the London subway and sent it to Bescot. What a guy!”

Curbishley had also, to his astonishment, written him a message that said, “Dear Oliver, I hope this finds you well. I discovered your wallet on a London subway.

“I hope it has not caused you undue stress!” Now you may gain access to your team! With best regards, Alan Curbishley.”

Since then, the tweet has been read 360,000 times, and other individuals have expressed their love for Curbishley.

One fan tweeted, “I expected nothing less from the great man,” while another commented, “Quality from the manager.”

A third person remarked, “Doesn’t Curbs seem like the most likely manager to return a missing wallet? I would support Steve Cooper among the current crop.”

Curbishley, a native of east London, began his career at West Ham before playing for Charlton and Brighton. He managed the Addicks for fifteen years before to his two-year tenure at Upton Park.
