Ally Law, a British tourist, left his wallet and belongings worth £2,000 on a street in Dubai and claims he returned an hour later to find them untouched.
He did this to prove to a friend, Lee Marshall, that Dubai is crime-free, as they visited the city a fortnight ago.
In a video, Law can be seen putting his iPhone 14 Pro, GoPro, and wallet containing his ID and credit cards on a knee-high wall next to a footpath.
After returning an hour and 22 minutes later, Law was relieved to find his items undisturbed, and he claims that this shows the country’s lack of crime, making it the best city in the world compared to London.
Law’s Move to Dubai
The experiment impressed Facebook users, with some claiming that the same items would have been stolen after walking ten paces in the UK.
The results were so astonishing to Law that he moved to live in Dubai on 4 April, citing the country’s lack of crime as a significant factor.
