After being caught stealing a delivery man’s lunch bag, a stray dog may have to pay a hefty punishment in animal court.
While Roseilson Melo was delivering an order to a residence in the Pará state in northern Brazil on Sunday, the cheeky yet humorous deed was caught on video.
The dog was seen walking by Melo as he approached the house on his bike in the CCTV footage.
In order to retrieve the lunch bag he was leaving behind, he took off the food delivery backpack and placed it on top of the seat.
A plastic bag fell out of Melo’s backpack while she was conversing with the client as she moved over to ring the doorbell.
The four-legged creature then walked past the motorbike and saw the lunch bag laying on the ground. After picking it up with its teeth, the dog crossed the street to the opposite side.
Later, the camera captured the dog dumping the bag on the grass and briefly smelling it.
The dog apparently thought the meal smelled good enough because it grabbed the bag with its jaws and began to leave.
The client’s supper had been ordered from Delicias de Francisca restaurant, and Melo had a perplexed response as he looked for it while informing the customer that his bag was gone from the backpack.
After reviewing the security camera video, the owner, Tharles Costa, informed Brazilian news source G1, that they were able to identify the viral theft.
The client was shocked to learn that the meal had vanished. Costa remarked, “The delivery man got here puzzled and unsure of what to do.
He didn’t see the dog, after all. We made the decision to visit the location and request the security camera footage. We then saw all that had occurred. The news spread quickly.
Costa posted the video to his restaurant’s Instagram account along with pictures of himself and the dog in a photo booth and a picture of the dog in a police cruiser.
