After his mother’s death, King Charles was seriously disturbed

Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth, King Charles has been “deeply affected” by the outpouring of sympathy.

On the eve of Her Late Majesty’s funeral, the 73-year-old monarch, who succeeded to the throne upon the death of his mother on September 8 at the age of 96 after a 70-year reign, said that he and his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, have been “touched beyond measure” following a UK tour.

He said the following in a statement from Buckingham Palace: “My wife and I have been very moved by the countless condolence and support messages we have received from people all around the world and in this country over the past ten days.

Everyone who made the effort to attend and pay their respects to the lifetime of service of my dear mother, the late Queen, moved us beyond measure in London, Edinburgh, Hillsborough, and Cardiff.”

On Monday, Queen Elizabeth will be put to rest.

The king continued by expressing gratitude to the “countless people” who had offered him and the rest of the royal family “support and consolation” in the wake of the tragedy.

As we prepare to bid one other farewell, he continued, “I just wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the innumerable individuals who have provided my family and I with such support and solace during this difficult time.”

Mon. at 11 a.m., the Westminster Abbey in London will host the state funeral for the monarch. At 4 p.m., St. George’s Chapel in Windsor will host the committal service. At 7.30 p.m., in a private ceremony, she will be laid to rest alongside the Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away in April 2021 at the age of 99.
