After 11 weeks as prime minister, Albanese kayaks, visits art, and eats oysters

Anthony Albanese was observed kayaking, enjoying art, and dining at a nice oyster bar barely 11 weeks into his tenure.

Last Friday, the prime minister said he’d be taking his first vacation since May. Richard Marles will be in charge while he’s away.

Mr Albanese never said where he was going on vacation but said he’d stay in Australia.

The couple had a romantic meal at Sydney Cove Oyster Bar near Cable Beach in Broome on Sunday.

The seafood restaurant posted a picture of Mr. Albanese with workers on Facebook and commented about welcoming him.

Last night, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his girlfriend Jodie Haydon dined with us on the deck.

Albanese and Haydon were aware of the restaurant’s shift from Circular Quay to Broome last year, which included 17 staff members.

They knew about our transfer from Circular Quay to Broome, to our astonishment.

After dinner, the PM ‘politely offered’ to pose with workers.

‘I adore how these Broome local youngsters began as dish hands and oyster shuckers,’ the restaurant’s message said.

On Monday, the PM was spotted with Ms. Haydon at Art Above.

He offered an impromptu statement on art’s value in society and communities.

The Kimberley Arts Network published a snapshot of Mr Albanese conversing with Clancy McDowell before his address.

Kimberley Arts Network tweeted: ‘Last night we showed @albomp and Jodie Haydon through the exhibition and spoke about the remarkable range of art practise here in the Kimberley.’

Naomi Hatherley, an artist at the event, said, ‘It’s not every day you get to tell the PM about your art, women’s football, and how it all started.’

She said Mr Albanese and Ms Haydon were ‘modest, inquisitive, courteous, and giving with their time’

On Tuesday morning, the high-powered duo was seen kayaking around the Broome coastline.

The two took a turtle kayak trip with Broome Adventures, who posted a picture of them and said they were shocked by the prime minister’s arrival.

We hosted Australia’s PM and his wife today. Such a gorgeous day and a nice surprise for everybody on the Broome Turtle Kayak,’ the post said.

The prime minister and his partner’s Broome stay length is unclear.

He’ll return August 14.
