Adele and Ed Sheeran turned down invitations to take part in King Charles’s Coronation concert

King Charles’s Coronation concert, scheduled to take place at Windsor Castle on May 7th, has been dealt a huge blow as both Adele and Ed Sheeran declined invitations to take part.
A source close to the project stated that the two were on the King’s list of performers, and that he was very keen that they were part of the concert, adding that it was “such a shame” they were unable to take part.
Sheeran is scheduled to perform in Texas the day before the Coronation gig, and although it would be difficult for him to get to the Windsor show, insiders have stated it would be possible to make the nine-hour journey in time by private jet. Meanwhile, Lionel Richie and the Spice Girls are close to agreeing to perform.
The concert will be screened by the BBC, and thousands of pairs of tickets will be made available to the public via a ballot. The King has selected a programme of music that will showcase a range of musical talent and styles from the UK and Commonwealth, including an anthem written by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
