Inspector Brett Featherby stated on Sunday, ‘Sadly, once outside the building, the man became unconscious.’

A male, age 26, sustained severe but non-life-threatening injuries.

At approximately 9 p.m., it was reported to authorities that the involved driver was residing in Craigmore.

Two males could be heard arguing, and a four-wheel-drive vehicle matching the description of the vehicle involved in the accident was parked in the driveway.

Officers disarmed the 32-year-old after discovering the couple engaged in an altercation on the living room floor.

According to the police, he was then handcuffed and led outside.

Inspector Brett Featherby told reporters on Sunday, ‘Sadly, once outside the building, the man remained unconscious.’

He was given CPR, but he died before the arrival of paramedics.

His death is being investigated as a death in custody, and the State Coroner will be notified.

A 41-year-old male had hand injuries and is being treated in the hospital.

As the police were still notifying the deceased man’s next of kin, they refused to provide any information regarding his demise.

Approximately six hours prior, a person was struck by a white Toyota four-wheel drive on St. Lawrence Avenue near Andrews Farm after an alleged domestic dispute.

Inspector Featherby stated, “For the sake of this man’s and his family’s dignity, I am unable to offer any information regarding any previous incidents in which he may have been engaged.”

Police are currently investigating if the Toyota involved in the hit-and-run was stolen.

The automobile has the license plate number WWJ 662, although this registration does not correspond to the vehicle.

Inspector Featherby stated, “We’re trying to determine where these license plates came from and when they were obtained.”

Both cases will be investigated by the Division of Major Crime and Ethical and Professional Standards.

This event and the preceding hit-and-run will be subjected to an independent, thorough, and exhaustive inquiry to determine their relationship.
