Aaron Carter’s family believes that he did not drown in his bathtub, but rather overdosed on drugs.

In November, Carter died at the age of 34.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office informed his fiancée Melanie Martin and mother Jane Carter that there was no water found in Carter’s lungs, ruling out drowning as a possible cause of death.

The Post has contacted Carter family representatives for comment.

Martin, who recently won full custody of their 1-year-old son Prince, asserts that she discovered text messages on her late fiancé’s phone in which he discussed owing an unknown individual $800 for an unknown substance.

She stated that Carter had informed the individual that he no longer required the medicine, to which the individual replied that payment was still due. Carter allegedly responded by asking whether he was being threatened, but that was the end of the conversation.

Martin disclosed to TMZ that she met with detectives last week and provided the text exchanges as evidence.

She also revealed, alongside Carter’s mother, that the coroner is still awaiting toxicology results to determine what substances were in the late teen idol’s system at the time of his death, and that the family wants law enforcement to investigate the alleged drug transaction that occurred the night of Aaron’s death.

Aaron and Nick Carter arrive at The Spider Club in Hollywood, California on April 14, 2004 for the “Simple Life 2” Welcome Home Party.

Carter’s family now believes he met the mysterious person previous to his death and may have taken a substance that caused his death.

Martin previously told Page Six that Carter “couldn’t escape his demons” and was frequently “suckered” into partying, making it difficult for him to maintain sobriety.

In November, police were dispatched to Carter’s Los Angeles residence in response to a 911 call reporting a drowning. They discovered his body in his tub while the jets were still operating.

Due to the unusual hue of the water and the stench of decomposition, law enforcement officials believe Carter’s body been in the bathtub for an extended amount of time.

Law enforcement sources earlier told TMZ that police discovered prescription medication bottles and many cans of compressed air in the singer’s bathroom and bedroom.

Carter’s death certificate, which was made public in November, showed that the singer was cremated and that an autopsy was conducted, although the cause of death was withheld at the time.
