According to a new book, Camilla ‘calls the shots’ for King Charles

According to a recent book, Camilla, the Queen Consort, impacts some of King Charles III’s professional decisions.

The Mail on Sunday published an excerpt from royal reporter Kate Nicholl’s forthcoming book, “The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown,” which examines everything from Queen Elizabeth’s relationship with Meghan Markle to the effect of Meghan and Prince Harry’s step back on Prince William.

Nicholl also investigated King Charles and Camilla’s intimate relationship in the passage, highlighting the Queen Consort’s professional assistance to the king.

According to Nicholl, the king rehearses his speeches for Camilla and discusses his ideas with her, and she said that “sometimes she controls the shots.”

In 2021, Charles’ most trusted adviser, Michael Fawcett, was accused of giving a Saudi billionaire a knighthood in exchange for $2 million in donations to The Prince’s Foundation. Following the claims, Fawcett resigned from his position as chief executive officer of the charity.

Camilla’s anonymous acquaintance told Nicholl that the Queen Consort instructed her husband to fire Fawcett.

“She stated Michael must leave. She effectively fired him “The friend revealed to Nicholl.

“She had never been much of an admirer of Fawcett, and she could see how destructive this would be to Charles’ reign,” the friend added.

Camilla and Prince Harry disagreed on how to manage their concerns.

In a further sample of the book released in Vanity Fair, Nicholl stated that Camilla asserted herself to Prince Harry when he recommended that the royal family engage a mediator in an effort to resolve their disputes.

Camilla’s companion informed Nicholl, “He genuinely offered that they engage a mediator to attempt to resolve the conflict, which left Charles slightly confused and Camilla sputtering into her tea.”

According to Nicholl, the same acquaintance stated, “She told Harry that it was silly and that, as a family, they would work it out among themselves.”

Camilla will be coronated around the same time as King Charles, and she plans to maintain her own private residence despite her husband’s position as monarch.
