A teenager who hoped to be a bull rider in the U.S. died in So Paulo, Brazil

At a rodeo in the state of So Paulo in the southeast of Brazil, a teenager who had ambitions to become a bull rider and compete in the United States passed away from a heart attack after falling from a bull.

On Thursday night in Ribeiro Preto, a city in So Paulo, Thiago Castilho, 18, was taking part in an event when he fell.

Online footage have emerged in which Perez is seen mounted on the bull for about eight seconds as the animal tries to buck him off.

The adolescent eventually lost control of the bull rope and as he was plummeting to the ground, it looked that he smacked his neck on the bull’s horn.

He was laying on the ground, unconscious, as another man pursued the bull. Two guys hurried to his side.

Castilho had a heart collapse early on Friday morning and was sent to a nearby hospital.

The Ribeiro Preto Civil Police is looking into the occurrence as a suspicious and accidental death.

According to Brazilian news station G1, Jean Carlos Castilho’s teenager began riding horses at the age of 11 and moved on to riding oxen by the time he was 16 years old.

Thiago Castilho started competing in larger rodeo events as soon as he turned 18 in February. These events were hosted in numerous towns in So Paulo, including his birthplace of Brodowski.

Thiago Castilho was prepared to risk his life for the activity he loved, even though he had warned his son about the risks involved.

Unfortunately, it is the essence of rodeo. It’s a risky activity. I used to tell him, “My teenager, stop it.” Castilho, Jean Carlos, remembered.

According to the grieving father, his son resisted giving up, assuring him, “If I die one day, I’m going to die happy, I’m going to die riding,” when asked why he didn’t give up.

Thiago Castilho was recognized with a video on Friday by local rodeo announcer Ronald Xavante, who described him as a rising star in the sport.

“Thiago was an 18-year-old who has been reawakening the ambition of becoming a rider since he was a youngster,” Xavante added. Thiago had been giving excellent presentations and piqued the attention of various national rodeo teams because “his dream came true.”
