According to reports, King Charles has reportedly evicted the Duke of Sussex and Meghan from their Frogmore Cottage due to Harry’s accusations in his memoir, “Spare,” directed at Queen Consort Camilla.
It was previously believed that the eviction was done so the disgraced Duke of York, Prince Andrew, could move in.
On Tuesday, the King issued the couple with a notice to vacate the Frogmore Cottage because the Duke crossed a line. Although the King’s decision is supported by his wife, Prince William, and Kate, the decision was not taken lightly, especially with the ongoing bad blood between Harry, his father, and his brother.
The King believes that his youngest son has “crossed a line” after making certain claims in his book and the Netflix series. The Mirror reports that the King is particularly unhappy about Harry’s accusations towards the Queen Consort. The Prince hinted that Camilla was responsible for leaking stories about Harry and Meghan to the media.
King Charles reportedly started the eviction proceedings after reading a dossier of findings from aides about details published in the book. Sources told The Mirror that the accusations “was the last straw. Harry was well aware how Camilla would be a red line for his father, and he crossed with flagrant disregard anyway.”
Although it is still unknown whether Harry and Meghan will attend the King and Queen Consort’s coronation, it now seems even more unlikely. Harry has previously demanded a sit-down conversation with his brother and father before committing to attend the King’s coronation.
The couple is reportedly already making arrangements for their remaining belongings to be sent to them in California. Frogmore Cottage underwent a multi-million-pound renovation between 2018 and 2019 before Harry and Meghan moved in. The cottage was seen in parts of the couple’s Netflix documentary series.
