The median or middle weekly pay has increased by 4.2%, or $50, in the year to August, according to new statistics from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

This figure includes both full-time and part-time employees, as well as the 5.2% minimum wage rise for retail workers that took effect on July 1.

Thus, those who make more than $65,000 per year are among the highest-paid half of Australian workers.

The median wage in Australia lies between the minimum, full-time income of $42,255 and the mean, full-time compensation of $92,030.

The Australian Capital Territory, where public officials in Canberra reside, earned the highest median salary of $78,936, based on the average weekly compensation of $1,518.

Based on a median weekly wage of $1,400, the next highest annual income was $72,800 in the Northern Territory. Based on a weekly wage of $1,315, this statistic places it ahead of mining-rich Western Australia, whose annual income is $68,380, or $1,315 per week.

The median wage in New South Wales and Victoria was comparable to that of Australia as a whole.

However, Queensland, South Australia, and Tasmania had the lowest wage levels.

The median annual income of South Australians was $58,515.60, with a weekly wage of $1,125.30.

Tasmanians had the lowest median income at $55,926, or $1,075.50 per week.

In November, Australia’s unemployment rate remained at a 48-year low of 3.4% due to the creation of 64,000 jobs, 34,200 of which were full-time and 29,800 of which were part-time.

The participation rate is at a historic high of 66.8 percent, according to Diana Mousina, a senior economist at AMP Capital. She stated that anyone seeking employment has a decent chance of obtaining one.

She stated, “The labor market is at absolute full employment.”

There are about one job opening for every unemployed person.

Darwin was the only capital city where males outnumbered females when it came to gender parity.

It was also the youngest capital, with a median age of 34.5 years, compared to 37.1 years for capital cities as a whole and 41.8 years for the nation as a whole.
