Jessie James Decker is not “bothered” by criticism of her children’s abdominal muscles.
“I don’t believe I ever thought too much about it. It comes with the territory,” the country artist stated in a Friday interview with Fox News.
“However, I believe I am aware of what a wonderful mother I am, and I know the reality,” she concluded. Therefore, it does not concern me.
James Decker, age 34, remarked that he and his wife Eric Decker “tune out the noise.”
She said, “We are really proud of our children.”
The couple is the parents of eight-year-old daughter Vivianne and seven- and four-year-old sons Eric II and Forrest, whose muscularity aroused controversy last month.
After James Decker shared an Instagram photo of the children wearing swimsuits while on vacation in Mexico, social media commenters accused him of Photoshopping abs onto their tummies.
At the moment, one follower remarked, “Is this a joke?”
“It’s an application she utilized,” guessed another.
James Decker later denied changing the photographs, stating that she could not “help but laugh” at the “ludicrous” prospect.
“Being accused of… ‘overtraining’ our children makes me realize how strange our world has become in regards to the body and what’s normal and abnormal,” she captioned further footage from their vacation. “We preach about body positivity and acceptance, but my children’s hereditary and athletically-built muscle mass is ‘weird’?”
She continued, “I want my children to be proud of their bodies and their efforts.”
The 35-year-old former NFL player Decker applauded “mother bear” for her response in the comments section at the time.
James Decker has frequently criticized the parental police over the years.
In April 2020, the “Flip My Hair” singer justified wearing revealing undergarments in front of her children by comparing them to a “swimsuit.”
In September 2018, James Decker supported her decision to consume “a sip of wine” while breastfeeding her youngest child.
