Jessie James Decker denies ‘overtraining’ children despite ‘crazy’ ab-photo criticism

Jessie James Decker has more to say about the athletic physiques of her children, which dominated Instagram during the Thanksgiving holiday.

After responding to a few naysayers in the comments section on a photo of her three children in bikinis on a beach in Mexico, the singer devoted an entire post to putting an end to the “crazy” issue.

Jessie Decker, who is married to Eric Decker, captioned a Monday video of the couple’s children enjoying their tropical vacation, “When I posted the photos of our vacation and included the kids being silly and flexing on the beach during our Thanksgiving trip, I had NO idea it would get the response it did.”

“But being accused of photoshopping abs onto my children (I can’t help but giggle) or… the polar opposite over ‘overtraining’ our children makes me realize how strange our society has become in regards to the body and what’s considered normal and abnormal,” she added.

The 34-year-old, who deals with body image issues and periods of compulsive weight fluctuation, informed her followers that she and her husband, a 35-year-old former football player, “preach about body positivity and acceptance” in their home.

Jessie stated that she and her husband aim to encourage their children “to feel proud of their bodies and hard work,” citing Vivi’s “elite competitive gymnastics,” Eric Jr.’s goal “to be like his dad as an NFL receiver,” and Forrest’s hours-long “dancing his heart out” sessions.

“Let’s not pick and choose what we normalize about bodies; let’s be inclusive of all individuals and children,” the singer addressed her Instagram fans after the widespread spread of her family’s vacation images.

“But my children’s genetic and athletically-built muscle is ‘weird’?” she said, adding, “Let’s not pick and choose what we accept in terms of body types and be welcoming of all individuals and children.”

The country singer then pushed her followers to “do better” by using a variant of Maya Angelou’s famous remarks.

She closed her statement by saying, “I’m proud of my children and encourage them to pursue their aspirations. We’ll see you at the 2032 Olympics, wearing Bubby’s jersey in the stands and dancing at Forrest’s rock performance.”

Jessie, whose husband Eric Decker is a retired professional athlete, asserted that the couple’s children are merely highly active.

Eric expressed his love and support for his wife by saying, “U get mother bear.” Other famous mothers also supported her.

“I regret even having to bring this up,” Jenni is a “Jersey Shore” star. “JWoww” was written by Farley, and Jamie Lynn Spears responded, “Yes mam!!! Your children are genetic winners! Go team Decker.”

And Candace Cameron Bure, who is now in the midst of her own separate Internet drama, dropped the emojis “.”
