Aaron’s Corrie actor says he would feel “betrayed” after learning about Amy’s rape

As Amy Barlow’s horrific abuse plotline approaches, Coronation Street star James Craven has predicted that his character Aaron Sanford would have a “genuine feeling of betrayal.”

Aaron will be pushed away by his girlfriend Summer Spellman in the forthcoming scenes, which will show Aaron and Amy in an awkward scenario as they attempt to mend their broken relationship, according to actor James.

He’ll spend the evening with his pals getting wasted while trying to forget his problems.

But sadly, things will change for Amy and Aaron since he ends up having sex with her without her choice.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Star and other media outlets, James revealed specifics of Amy’s traumatic situation that would occur after his breakup with Summer.

He stated: “It should be obvious that he and Summer had experienced many relationship issues in the past, some of which were somewhat beyond their control.

“But I believe that in the past, he had always been by her side, no matter what, and made an effort to assist her.

“But, I believe that this time he really feels betrayed. I believe that even though he is aware of his mistakes, he attempts to atone for them, but she just pushes him away.

In light of this, I believe that he views this as the last straw and wonders why he should continue.

He continued, speaking of his growing friendship with Amy: “Also, keep in mind that he and Amy spent all this time together at the apartment.

“Brian has undoubtedly been present, but they have mostly been the two of them.

Hence, they have had the time that we haven’t seen on TV to get to know one another better, to really learn to care for one another, to laugh together, and to strengthen their bond.

Both Amy and Aaron will make an effort to understand what took on the night of the tragedy.

Yet Amy will be put in a traumatic situation since she will now know that she did not consent to have sex with Aaron.

Producer Iain MacLeod offered his opinion on the narrative as follows: “The amount of individuals who have raised their hands to declare they shared Amy’s experience since we began considering the plot has surprised me.

This narrative will be very relevant, and we hope that it will spark crucial conversations regarding consent among our audience.
