44-year-old woman’s boyfriend is accused of killing her

The 44-year-old woman’s boyfriend has been accused of killing the mother-of-four, who was discovered dead in north Queensland.

Tania Trickey’s corpse was found in the bush near Bluewater in Townsville on Saturday by youths riding quad bikes.

According to authorities, the Deeragun man was accused on Tuesday with one count of murder (a domestic violence offence).

Ms Trickey's body was found near Jaloonda Road in Bluewater, about 28km northwest of Townsville, in the state's tropical North on Saturday afternoon (pictured, Bluewater Creek)

According to the police, the guy and the lady’s relationship were just a few months old and that the woman had just moved into the neighbourhood.

The guy was also accused of killing Ms. Trickey and discarding her corpse in a forest during an alleged weekend incident south of Proserpine.

Around 11.30 on Sunday morning, the guy, according to police, fired a shotgun into a passing southbound car on the Bruce Highway near Yalboroo.

Before firing a shot that struck the rear of the other vehicle’s driver’s side door and top, the guy had been driving back and forth “erratically” on the highway, according to police.

The driver of the second car wasn’t hurt.

On Sunday night at Proserpine, a service station, the 38-year-old guy was brought into custody without a hitch and sent to Mackay.

In connection with the alleged shot fired, he has been charged with actions intended to cause great bodily damage.

Police said the guy failed to pay for petrol at the Giru service station south of Townsville on Saturday, so he was also charged with theft.

On Wednesday, he will show up at Mackay Magistrates Court.

On Tuesday, police recorded video of the vehicle they think is connected to the woman’s death and the accused highway shooting.

Police asked anyone with dashcam vision of this red 1997 Corolla hatch seen in Bluewater on Saturday, which travelled south to Proserpine between 10.30am and 11.30am on Sunday, to come forward

Anybody with dashcam footage of a red 1997 Corolla hatchback that was observed in Bluewater on Saturday and drove to Proserpine between 10.30 and 11.30 on Sunday is requested to contact police.

The automobile was being driven along Midge Point Road, Bloomsbury, and the Bruce Highway at Yalboroo, Calen, and Mount Ossa in the Mackay area, police said in a separate request.
