25-year-old woman dies after becoming ill at Creamfields music festival in Cheshire

Police said a 25-year-old woman died after becoming ill at the Creamfields music festival in Cheshire.

The woman was transported from the festival to the Warrington District General Hospital on Friday, but she passed away early on Tuesday morning.

Her death is not being viewed as suspicious, but an investigation is underway, according to the police.

Her relatives have been notified.

Superintendent Sarah Heath, who headed the police operation for Creamfields 2022, said, ‘The tragic death of a young woman is heartbreaking, and our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time.

‘An investigation into the cause of her death is under way but at this stage there is nothing to suggest that there are any suspicious circumstances.’

It comes just days after a teenager, age 16, died at Leeds Festival in the early hours of Sunday morning ‘after taking grey or black MDMA pill’.

The teenager was identified by the West Yorkshire Police as David Celino from Worsley, Salford.

David supposedly died tragically after using a “grey or black” MDMA pill at Leeds Festival.

Since then, police have opened an inquiry into the teen’s death, which is believed to have been caused by narcotics.

In a tribute his family said: ‘Our David was a beautiful, fiercely independent and warm character who lived every day at 110% and who loved to spend time enjoying music with his friends.

He had recently achieved outstanding GCSE scores, enrolled in college, and wanted to pursue computer science at a prestigious institution.

The Leeds Festival was the highlight of his summer; unfortunately, he was killed in the most unjust, brutal, and heinous manner imaginable, and we are devastated.
