Townsville detectives are looking into a laceration to the head received by a 17-year-old boy following an argument at Hermit Park yesterday night (January 26).

According to preliminary evidence, the teenager was with companions along Surrey Street at 10.15 p.m. when a man and female went by, the man making remarks to the group.

This turned into a violent argument, during which the boy was hit in the head and shoulder with a shattered bottle.

The male and female ran on foot before getting into a neighbouring white Toyota.

The boy was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The man is described as being around 185cm tall, with a slim frame, light complexion, and ‘orangish’ hair done in an undercut style. He was dressed in a grey shirt and shorts.

The girl is slim, has a pale complexion, and is dressed in a black blouse and black pants.

Police are pleading with the pair to contact them, and anybody with information is encouraged to do so as well.
