An 85-year-old man dies in a boat crash in Queensland, another man sustains injuries

An 85-year-old man has died in a boat crash in Queensland, while another man sustained injuries.

The incident occurred when two men were thrown from a boat that crashed in the Burnett River near Strathdees boat ramp, in the Bundaberg suburb of Rubyanna on Tuesday morning.

The Windermere man who was thrown from the boat suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.

Bystanders attempted to revive him after he suffered a heart attack, but were unsuccessful.

The driver of the boat, an 82-year-old Gooburrum man, received treatment in the hospital for a cut to his arm.

Water police are investigating the incident, and witnesses are urged to come forward. No other vessels were involved in the crash.
