When it was at its peak in the 1990s, TFI Friday was a must-see event due to its blend of live music, famous guests, and Chris Evans as presenter.

However, some of the material on the popular Channel Four show has been given a different spin in the present period and is difficult to reconcile with modern sentiments.

Victoria Beckham criticized Evans, 56, yesterday for asking her to weigh herself on live television soon after giving child.

It is one of many crazy moments that helped the program become so successful, but now it would probably be cut from the final product.

Here, MailOnline examines some of the more well-known and contentious instances:

One of the more contentious parts of the program involved telling kids they might win wonderful prizes by competing in a staring contest.

Two boys aged seven competed in one of the competitions, and the loser was upset because he didn’t win his parents a new car.

The following week, it was two young girls’ chance to compete for a £15,000 speedboat.

The loser started crying this time, which led to more complaints being made to the industry watchdog Ofcom.

Channel 4 was censured by the ITC for violating its program code, which states that “care must be taken to avoid upsetting or alarming minors.”

A 2015 remake helped to atone for the uproar by inviting Chris and Naomi, the losing team, back as adults for another match.

They were both granted vacations to Barbados and did not have to win this time.

Some of the biggest names in music had always been persuaded by the show to venture outside of their comfort zones.

However, it’s believed that one of the most well-known wasn’t even planned.

Geri Halliwell of the Spice Girls and Kylie Minogue had been persuaded to compete against one another in a strength competition by Evans.

The couple engaged in an arm-wrestling match using the show’s iconic desk, which ended in a draw.

They proceeded to kiss each other for around two seconds after leaning in.

The moment had not been planned, it was alleged after the fact.

Fat Lookalikes, another segment of the program, was exactly what it sounded like.

People from the general public or TFI Friday’s pals could nominate themselves to appear on the program.

The onus was then on the audience to determine which famous person they thought they resembled.

Then the contributor would see the unveiling of the celebrity’s name.

The live audience would unavoidably whoop and cheer in glee.

Freak or Unique served as a forum for TFI Friday enthusiasts who have uncommon talents.

The segment showed peculiar abilities or physical characteristics years before Britain’s Got Talent graced ITV screens.

The visitors would appear and showcase their talents for Evans and the audience.

The most well-known ones included a man who could shoot ball bearings out of his belly button and a woman who could cry milk.

It’s generally agreed upon that the young man with the rubbery ears is the most unforgettable.

Members of the public who had written in to appear on the show as a “ugly bloke” were included in this self-explanatory segment.

When Evans would inquire about them, “How long have you been ugly?,” they would respond, “All my life.”

The model Catalina Guirado would then emerge from a smoke-belching backstage door.

Before the program ended the same way, she would then propose to the guest.

No thanks sweetheart, you’re not my kind. Would be the reply from the alleged ugly bloke.

Chris Evans and TFI Friday have come under fire from Victoria Beckham for the time he weighed her after she gave birth to her first child.

It took place in 1999, barely two months after Jennifer gave birth to Brooklyn.

Evans had questioned her on how she had returned to her pre-pregnancy shape so rapidly.

He asked if he could check and had her walk onto some scales after she said she was back to her normal weight.

Victoria said, “He made me stand on the scales to get weighed,” in a future issue of Vogue Australia.

“Can you think about doing that today?”
