William and Kate Middleton replace Diana as Prince and Princess of Wales


King Charles III stated in his first address to the UK as ruler that William and Kate Middleton are now the Prince and Princess of Wales.

“Today, I am happy to create him Prince of Wales,” Charles III said in a Friday speech that was prerecorded and aired.
“The nation whose title I have had the honour of bearing for so much of my life. I am confident that with Catherine by his side, our new Prince and Princess of Wales will continue to inspire and lead our national conservation efforts, bringing the marginalized to the center where they can receive crucial assistance.”

Kate now fills the position held by Diana, William’s mother, prior to her death in 1997.

William “assumes the Scottish titles that have meant so much to me,” Charles III added.
