Wild Boar bits Sunbather on packed Costa del Sol beach

A female sunbather was hurt after being bitten by a wild boar that rushed out of the sea on a beach on the Costa del Sol.

Locals and tourists can be seen screaming and running for safety as the wild pig runs over their towels and along the beach.

Before the animal could create any further difficulties, lifeguards were able to shoo it away from the beach and popular beachfront restaurants and cafés.

Just after 11 a.m., emergency personnel were called to El Albir beach, which is located north of Benidorm.

Boat crews had spotted the animal in the water and attempted to catch it, but were forced to alert lifeguards when it began to head for dry land.

While it’s unclear how the animal wound out in the water, it’s likely that it came from the adjacent Serra Gelada Natural Park, which spans over 5,000 acres of shoreline in the Benidorm, Alfaz del Pi, and Altea districts.

While visitors were tanning and enjoying the sunshine, the boar rushed out of the water.

As the wild beast terrorized sunbathers on the beach in south Spain, lifeguards raised the alarm.

According to medics who treated the injured woman at a nearby health center, the boar collided with her and bit her, though it is unknown whether the bite was intentional.

The nationality of the 67-year-old woman injured, the only person injured, is unknown.

As a precaution, doctors cleaned her leg injuries and advised her to take antibiotics to prevent infection.

In a related announcement, the nearby city of Dénia plans to use archers to protect tourists from wild boars roaming the streets at night.

Local councillors revealed they are in contact with skilled archers in an attempt to stop the animals from eating farmers’ crops, causing traffic accidents, destroying golf courses, and attacking humans – in what they describe as an unusual scenario.
