Wealthy polluters made to pay at Luton airport

The doors to the private jet terminals at Luton Airport have been blocked off by environmental demonstrators today.

Extinction Rebellion declared its rally on Valentine’s Day to be “love in action” and called for the government to outlaw private aircraft, impose a surcharge on frequent travelers, and “make wealthy polluters pay.”

Environmental extremists barricaded the entrances to the Harrods Aviation and Signature private jet facilities at Luton Airport.

The demonstration is a part of a worldwide coordinated action that climate activists from 11 nations launched last week and is aimed at several locations in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the US.

Due to the increase in the usage of private jet flights for ostensibly romantic Valentine’s Day dates, groups decided to take action today.

Three of the gates to the Signature Terminal at Luton Airport are blocked by protesters who have chained themselves to a sizable blue boat.

With demonstrators locked onto two oil barrels, another set of protesters blocked the entrance to the Harrods Aviation Terminal.

Other protesters have assembled in front of both terminals while wearing hi-vis jackets, flags, and banners that resemble airport signs.

Due to the increase in the usage of private jet flights for ostensibly romantic Valentine’s Day dates, groups decided to take action today.

They urged onlookers to visit Parliament starting on April 21 to support their effort to phase out fossil fuels.
