Wall Street investor sues stripper after he borrowed her over $100k when COVID shut down her club

John Leahy, a Wall Street financier, has filed a lawsuit against Aline Luz Dunga, a stripper he had lent hundreds of thousands of dollars to and a Gucci scarf, which she never returned when COVID-19 shut down her club.

Leahy claims that he believed he was in a serious relationship with Dunga, and he spent $125,000 to help her through the pandemic, pay her mother’s cancer treatments and her Massachusetts state taxes.

The lawsuit alleges that he lent Dunga money on a regular basis for “maintenance” as part of a sort of stimulus package.

Leahy claims he doled out $125,000 from 2019 through 2021, believing that Dunga would eventually pay him back and that they were in a legitimate relationship.

However, in August 2021, Leahy realised that Dunga was only interested in his money, and he demanded she repay him $10,000. Shortly after, Dunga’s mother, Annalu Gomez, borrowed $6,000 to pay off her Massachusetts Toll and Excise Tax, and borrowed another $8,000 shortly thereafter, but neither were repaid.

Leahy is now suing Dunga and her mother in Manhattan Supreme Court for the return of his $125,000, plus the Gucci scarf he had lent Dunga in 2021.

The lawsuit alleges that Dunga made false representations about their relationship to convince Leahy to make payments to her creditors for her maintenance.

However, when Leahy asked for his money to be returned, the women stopped communicating with him. The lawsuit seeks to force the two women to pay back Leahy’s money and return the scarf he claims he lent to Dunga.

There is no information on whether Dunga or Gomez has retained a lawyer to represent them.
