Virginia Democrat Rep. Abigail Spanberger shied away from the idea of President Biden’s help on the campaign trail as she takes on one of the most competitive races of the midterm elections

Abigail Spanberger, a Virginia Democrat who is running in one of the most difficult contests of the midterm elections, shied away from the prospect of President Biden’s assistance on the campaign trail.

The moderate Democrat was questioned by Fox News’ Dana Perino on if she would ask the president for a favor as Democrats wage an uphill battle to retain control of the House in Spanberger’s newly formed 7th district, which is seen as a toss-up.

“Do you anticipate having President Biden join you when you campaign in that district?” Perino enquired on Tuesday. “I want to run my own campaign.” My name is on the ballot, and I am the candidate.

Additionally, Spanberger resisted pledging his support for a Biden-Harris ticket in 2024. I’m directly focused on 2022 and the reelection that lies ahead, she declared.

When questioned about who Democrat could defeat Trump more effectively, Biden or another, the congresswoman responded, “I’ve been very clear that I think there are tremendous leaders within the Democratic Party and that it is time to bring in new leadership.”

According to the New York Times, Biden and his closest advisers are “irritated” by the hostile reception his anticipated 2024 re-election attempt has received from other Democrats and the media.

The Times reports that based on anonymous interactions with people who frequently communicate with the commander-in-chief, Biden and his team view impressions that he is a “lame duck” less than halfway through his first term as a “lack of respect.”

As Biden’s poll numbers have plummeted amid four-decade-high inflation, Republicans are expected to win control of the House of Representatives and only need to flip five Democratic seats to do so. They could also win the Senate.

When Democrats took control of the House in 2018, Spanberger, a former CIA counterterrorism officer, gained a seat previously held by a Republican.

In February, when he pledged to “work like the devil” to combat price increases, the Democrat last made an appearance alongside Biden in Virginia.

Nobody chose Biden to be F.D.R., they elected him to be normal and halt the mayhem, according to a vice chair of the Problem Solvers’ Caucus who frequently promotes being one of Congress’ most bipartisan members.

In 2020, she chastised Democrats for focusing too much on socialism and Defund the Police.

She has consistently raised concerns about inflation, which the Biden administration had maintained was simply “transitory” until recently.

Yesli Vega defeated Spanberger in the Republican primary last week, but since then, she has been under fire for remarks that seemed to cast doubt on the prevalence of pregnancy as a result of rape.

Axios released the conversation’s audio.

The Prince William County sheriff deputy stated: “The left will say, ‘Well what about in cases of rape or incest?’” during a campaign visit in Stafford County. I work in law enforcement.

I graduated from police academy in 2011. I worked on a case where the young woman became pregnant after being raped.

The following question was posed to Vega: “I’ve heard that it’s more difficult for a woman to become pregnant after being raped. Has that been said?

Well, maybe because there’s so much going on in the body, she retorted. I’m not sure. You know, I haven’t seen any studies. However, based on how I’m understanding you, that wouldn’t surprise me.

Since it isn’t anything that is naturally occurring. It’s forced by you. I understand why there is truth to that because the person, a male, is doing it just as swiftly — it’s not like, you know. It is regrettable.

Vega responded, “I’m a mother of two, and I fully understand how people get pregnant,” when asked for comment on the statements.
