A vehicle theft was prevented at a Northcliff shopping center thanks to the attentiveness of the security personnel.
The Suburban Control Centre reports that at 13:10 yesterday afternoon, SCP Security personnel observed occupants of a white Fortuner attempting to steal a vehicle from a Northcliff shopping mall.
Suburban Control Centre reported that the license plate number was quickly disseminated throughout their security network and a watch was issued.
“About an hour later, the suspects’ vehicle was spotted by EC Security in Wilro Park, and a brief pursuit ensued, during which Help24 security provided backup; the suspects were ultimately unsuccessful.” Five offenders were apprehended, a number of fraudulent license plates were found, and two jammers were also seized during the arrest.”
Recently, Northcliff appears to be a playground for criminals. This is related to the gunfight outside Northcliff Elementary School on January 26.
At 13:25, a SCP Security Reaction Officer was standing down outside the School for visibility when two guys approached him on foot and fired numerous rounds in an effort to disarm him. The officer replied, and a battle ensued.
Suburban Control Centre adds that the suspects fled and a car chase proceeded through Fairland to Vaaljakkals Avenue in Weltevredenpark, where a second shootout occurred, resulting in the death of one suspect.
On Ontdekkers Road, Roodepoort, the deceased suspect was abandoned by his accomplices who escaped in a white Toyota Quest to avoid arrest.
The suspects’ vehicle has been linked to many robberies in and around Johannesburg, according to the Suburban Control Centre.
Additionally, the organization stated that no onlookers or students were injured at either shooting incident.
