Two-year-old boy survives hippo’s attack in Uganda

In Uganda, a two-year-old child was playing beside a lake when he was sucked up and spat out by a hippo.

A few hundred yards from the margin of Lake Edward, Paul Iga was coiled in the jaws of a hippo.

The authorities said, as reported by The Telegraph, that the hippo “grabbed… the youngster from the head and consumed half of his body.”

Chrispas Bagonza, a courageous local, thankfully saw the situation and started hurling stones at the hippo in an effort to stop it.

After ingesting half of the kid, the hippo seemed startled by this and vomited him up before making his way back to the water.

Police said that when Chrispas Bagonza stoned the hippo and startled it, the animal released the victim from its jaws. It then needed Chrispas’ courage to rescue the victim.

Paul amazingly escaped the assault even though he was hurt and transported to a clinic for treatment.

According to reports, the little child was sent to a hospital in Bwera but was later freed after receiving a rabies shot.

The Ugandan Police issued a statement that said, “Its is the first instance of this type when a hippo wandered out of Lake Edward and assaulted a little boy.”
