Twin boys are accused of murdering their father after he discovered them breaking into his car

Twin brothers are accused of murdering a father by beating him to death with brass knuckles in front of his small child after he found them breaking into his vehicle.

Alexander and Nicholas VanDuren, both 32 years old, are accused of killing Sean Shea, 36, of Kenmore on August 30 at a Motel 6 in Lacey, Washington.

After attending a wedding, Sean was sleeping at the motel with his wife and two children when, around 9:30 p.m., his seven-year-old son heard someone breaking into the car and woke up his father.

Shea opened the window and immediately began to argue with the twins. When he confronted them outside, they ‘pushed and struck the victim,’ according to court documents acquired by KOMO News.

Shea then fell backwards and struck the back of his head, sustaining a skull fracture. The twins allegedly proceeded to beat and kick him until he was unconscious, at which point he died at St. Peter’s Hospital.

Sheena Shea, Sean’s fiancee, implored the court on Thursday to sentence the brothers to life in prison.

And my child was forced to witness it, which was horrifying. For a seven-year-old to witness this happening to his father, these criminals should be sentenced to life in jail.

Nicholas VanDuren, 32, remains at large and has been arrested 24 times in the past.

Alexander was apprehended on Wednesday and is being jailed on a $1 million bond, whilst Nicholas remains at large and is deemed dangerous. In addition, he is reported to be driving a 2016 Ford Fusion with the license plate CEJ9093 and has a tattoo of an ace of spades on his shoulder.

According to KOMO News, Nicholas has been arrested 24 times and has been convicted of six felonies. In addition to his eight felonies, he was only released from prison in April.

“We will locate Nicholas and apprehend him,” Detective Eric Lever told King 5 News. It is not a matter of if, but of when anything will occur.

A motel resident who wished to remain anonymous reported hearing a small kid ask, “Where’s my father?”

On December 28, Alexander is anticipated to appear in court once more. He has pled not guilty to murder in the second degree.
