Here are some suggestions for mitigating dangers induced by power outages:

Utilize surge protection: electrical surges are among the leading causes of equipment damage during a power outage. Installing a surge protector can help mitigate some harm caused by unplanned events. Install a surge protection device on your electrical distribution board or, alternatively, at the gadget’s power outlet.

Ensure that your alarm system is operational and that the backup battery is completely charged so that it can give electricity in the case of a power outage.

Spare flashlight or headlamp: Keep a flashlight in your vehicle in case you arrive home late at night during a blackout. During unexpected power outages, the built-in or app-based torches on the majority of smartphones are useful.

Charge your smartphone, notebook, and tablet: Ensure that your cell phone, laptop, and tablet are well charged prior to blackouts. As soon as the power returns, re-charge them as soon as feasible. A power bank or other emergency phone charger should also be readily available. This is useful during prolonged power outages.

Cooking and lighting fuel: Obtain a small bottle of LP gas and a lamp. It illuminates a big area with high-quality light and can be used for cooking and boiling water. It is prudent to store hot water in a thermos flask in order to prepare hot beverages.
