Donald Trump’s attorneys wish to prevent jurors in his future civil rape trial from hearing the infamous ‘grab ’em by the p*ssy’ audio, in which the former president brags about how celebrity may sexually assault women.
Alina Habba and Michael Madaio, attorneys for Trump, filed documents in federal court in Manhattan on Thursday night.
They wish to exclude references to the 2005 recording and the recording itself from the April trial.
In the recording, he stated, “When I see beautiful women, I just start kissing them.” It resembles a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait.’
Moreover, he continued, ‘when you’re a celebrity, they let you do it. You are capable of doing anything, including groping women between the legs.
The trial originates from longstanding advice columnist E. Jean Carroll’s allegations.
The attorneys described the recording as “irrelevant and highly prejudicial” and asserted that it may be used unfairly to convince jurors that Trump had a predisposition for sexual assault and so must have raped Carroll.
In addition, they requested the exclusion of the testimony of two women who have accused Trump of sexual misconduct and the prohibition of references to his campaign speeches.
Carroll, 79, filed a lawsuit against Trump in November when New York state temporarily amended its laws to permit adult rape victims to sue their abusers, even if the assaults occurred decades prior.
On April 25, a trial is scheduled to begin, and both Trump and Carroll are likely to testify.
Carroll, a former columnist for Elle magazine, said in her 2019 biography, ‘What Do We Need Men For? ‘, that Trump raped her in the changing room of the upscale Manhattan department shop Bergdorf Goodman in late 1995 or early 1996.
Trump has vehemently disputed it in public speeches.
Trump dismissed Carroll’s claims in an October deposition for the future trial, stating, “Physically, she’s not my type.”
Trump has denied knowing Carroll, despite a 1987 photograph showing them with Carroll’s then-husband and Trump’s deceased first wife Ivana Trump.
This photo was presumably shown to him in October 2022, when he confused Carroll for his second wife, Marla Maples.
Carroll’s attorney, Roberta Kaplan, challenged him with twenty-five other women’s allegations against him and questioned whether any were true.

She claimed that they coaxed one other to try on lingerie, then entered the dressing room where Trump grew violent and assaulted her.
Friday, her attorney declined to comment.
