“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” stars Michelle Yeoh and Pete Davidson

Pete Davidson and Michelle Yeoh are performers that have been hired in voice parts in the forthcoming Paramount franchise film “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.”

In a post on Instagram on Tuesday afternoon, “Rise of the Beasts” director Steven Caple Jr. announced the two new cast members and included two videos from recording sessions, one with Davidson and the other with Yeoh.

Yeoh portrays the character Airazor, while Davidson portrays Mirage. The two actors join the cast of the live-action movie, which also stars Dominque Fishback and Anthony Ramos.

The “Transformers” series will be set in the 1990s in “Rise of the Beasts,” as Paramount’s movies haven’t yet done so.

The Maximals and Terrorcons, two new cybernetic extraterrestrial groups that would support one of the sides in the Earth-bound conflict between Autobots and Decepticons, are reportedly introduced in the movie.

Yeoh’s role in “Transformers” history, Airazor, is a member of the Maximals, who are the offspring of the Autobots. She has the ability to change into a falcon.

Mirage is an autobot that has previously featured in Paramount’s “Transformers” movies and was voiced in 2011’s “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” by the late actor Francesco Quinn.

Producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian, and Duncan Henderson are behind “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.”

Skydance and New Republic Pictures are co-financing and executive producing with Entertainment One, the entertainment division of Hasbro.

The movie is scheduled to premiere on June 9, 2023.
