Father Abraham is an example in Rom. 4. Jesus grows in wisdom, stature, and favor, as written in Luke 2:52. It is possible for everyone, through the help of the Holy Spirit, also to grow spiritually and reach the height and depths that God has for us all. Spiritual growth is about knowing our weaknesses and bettering our relationship with God. So, here are the top ten picks for Christian’s spiritual growth.

  • Believe in Jesus

Only when you believe in Christ can you beat your chest and say, I am saved. Life without Christ can be compared to driving a car without letting the emergency brake. Jesus has come and accomplished what humans cannot achieve, which has earned us God’s grace. Believe in Jesus’ death and resurrection, which will create a transformation in your life, and ultimately set the foundation for spiritual growth.

  • Study and Practice the Bible

We can’t only study the bible; we have to practice it in our daily lives. The more we practice, the faster we grow. Having the Word of God is based on obedience, not attitude or ability. We should know some basic things about the bible: fundamental doctrines, Christian faith, Scriptural examples, and the storyline.

The book of Colossians 3:16 says let the Word of God dwell in us night and day.

  • Grow in Worship

The more we attach ourselves to Christ, the more He becomes glorious to us. The Scripture is the first place to start as it reveals the comprehensive union of us with Christ through worship. John 4:24 says that we can only worship God in truth and Spirit.

  • Obey Christ’s Words

God’s Word strengthens us every day in our endeavors to obey Him. Peter tells us to follow Christ’s words, who was sent by God and filled with the Holy Spirit to die for us (1 Peter 1:2). To grow in Christian Faith, we have to obey Christ. Obedience is essential, and without it, there is no growth.

  • Accept the Holy Spirit

If we love Jesus, we must allow the Holy Spirit to come to our hearts and make them alive. The Spirit flows like blood in our veins as Christian, enabling us to do everything to please God. We should not just be filled with the Spirit but allow the Spirit to work in us. As we walk with the Spirit, there will be no obedience to the flesh (Galatians 5:6).

  • Resist Desires of the Flesh

Evil dominates the world, but we can neglect these desires with Christ. Avoiding temptation and living on the Word, not the world, will grow our spirituality. 1 John 2:15 says live by the Word, not by the things of the world. Anyone who lives by the world does not love the father.

Resist the devil and stay steadfast to our faith as the same suffering is experienced by other Christians in the world (1 Peter 5:9). Christianity can help you become who you’re destined to be.

  • Unit in Fellowship

A lonely ship can easily sink compared to those in the armada. It pays to be strong in the Christian faith through communal settings. As we live in the world, we should keep a company of strong Christians; as 1 Corinthians 15:33 says, bad friends ruin good behavior. Satan tries to deter us from fellowship because he knows there is strength in unity. You increase your heavenly pace if you follow someone who knows Christ.

Jesus prayed by himself in a lonely place (Luke 5:16). In addition, the book of Corinthian says never stop praying. Prayer is the key to reaching Jesus but must be done with solitude and humility. Prayer is a time to offer our trust, dependence, and concern to Christ. We get transformed as we open ourselves and confess to God, which fuels our growth.

  • Dine with the Lord

As we live daily, we must regularly sit at the Lord’s table and partake in His sacrifice of the Supper. By doing this, we remember what He did here on earth. The apostles focus on teaching, fellowshipping, praying, and breaking bread (Acts 2:24).

  • Evangelize

Spreading the gospel was part of His words (the Great Commission) before leaving. Evangelism is serving the church. As the church spreads to us, we must spread to others similarly. We all hope for God’s kingdom regardless of place, location, time, or where we worship or support. The gift of the Spirit is to be used in serving one another in God’s way and grace.

Conclusion

As time gets challenging and we struggle with our spiritual lives, these few steps will guide you to the right choices. Sometimes we backslide as Christian, but that shouldn’t stop us from bouncing back and asking God for forgiveness. Don’t remain in sin but strive to repent.

Remember to fellowship with other Christian to motivate, increase, and strengthen our faith in Christ. Acknowledge Christ today as your Lord and Savior to qualify for the kingdom of God. There is nothing that gives heaven more joy than a repented sinner.
