Tony Dungy criticized for his tweet regarding “litter boxes in school bathrooms.”

Tony Dungy did not press the erase button fast enough.

The Hall of Famer, who currently serves as an NFL commentator for NBC Sports, has received criticism for a tweet that cited a false allegation regarding litter boxes in schools. Dungy was responding to a proposed state law in Minnesota that would mandate menstruation products in males’ school toilets.

Wednesday morning, Dungy tweeted, “That’s nothing.” Some school districts install litter boxes in school restrooms for pupils who identify as cats. It is crucial to satisfy the needs of every student.”

Dungy’s post, which appears to have been deleted, came in response to a Daily Wire tweet including a video of Minnesota State Representative Sandra Feist campaigning for the bill.

Tony Dungy, an analyst for NBC Sports, is drawing backlash over a deleted tweet regarding a proposed Minnesota state law mandating the availability of menstrual products in males’ school toilets.

“We ensure that students have toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and Band-Aids,” Feist told the House Education Policy Committee on January 11. “We should also ensure that students have period products,” she said. “Not all menstruating students are female.”

Dungy has not yet commented on the circumstance. Meanwhile, other Twitter users called the former NFL player and coach a “bigot,” among other derogatory terms.

“After reading that Tony Dungy actually believed schools were installing litter boxes in classrooms, I’ve concluded that my brain must be completely rotting due to my online activity,” one individual tweeted.

Another user posted, “Twitter is coming together to call out @TonyDungy for being an idiot.”

Outsports.com stated that Dungy’s post seemed to be an attempt to “discredit LGBTQ people.”

Dungy is outspoken in favour of the causes he champions. The 67-year-old is a national spokesperson for All Pro Dad, a fatherhood program that assists men in family leadership.

This week, Dungy and NFL announcer Al Michaels were criticized for their apparent lack of enthusiasm during the coverage of Saturday’s wild-card game between the Jaguars and Chargers. It was the first time Dungy and Michaels shared a booth together.

Michaels informed The Post’s Andrew Marchand that he was “very happy” with the program, in reaction to critics’ claims that their debut was lackluster.

Michaels informed Marchand via text message, “I had never worked with Tony, but it felt very natural.” “It was like playing two separate games.

“I must have received a hundred texts from people who were thrilled to see me return to NBC. Read some criticisms that we did not sound enthusiastic enough. Internet compost! You know me better than anyone – no yelling, no screaming, no hooting. There is TELEVISION! When photos communicate the tale, ellipses and captions are [sufficient]. I’m not creating a game for excessive YouTube views.”
