Tom Brady is retiring from football “for good.”
In a video released on social media on Wednesday morning, the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers declared his official retirement and affirmed he would not return.
“I’ll get right to the point. I’m officially retiring, he told the camera. “I’m aware that the process was a big deal the last time, so when I woke up this morning, I decided to simply press record and inform you guys first.”
Brady, 45, remarked that athletes are only allowed “one super emotional retirement essay” and that he “used up” his last year ago.
“Thank you so much, gentlemen, to each and every one of you for supporting me, my family, my friends, my teammates, and my opponents,” he concluded.
“Thank you, gentlemen, for allowing me to live out my greatest desire. I would not alter anything.”
