Former medical student and TikTok star, Stella Barey, has given up her aspirations of becoming a doctor to pursue a full-time career as a sex worker.
The 24-year-old California native was preparing to apply for medical school and had been taking science classes, when she was invited to “member-only” sex parties by a fellow classmate.
The experience of the “underworld” sexual community changed her perception of life after sex on the internet and Barey made the decision to pursue a career in porn instead of a life in medicine.
The sex worker revealed that the parties were “a whole new level” for her and that she was “shocked” when she made $8,000 in her first month on OnlyFans.
After researching the types of jobs and the amount of money women were making in the sex industry, Barey began her career by posting bikini pictures, followed by nudes and stripping videos, until she progressed to creating explicit content.
She has gained a large following on social media and has made up to $300K a month on OnlyFans.
Barey had already taken the MCAT and prepared her applications for medical school when she realized that it no longer felt like a challenge.
Although she felt capable of becoming a doctor, Barey felt that being a porn star was more of a challenge and would push her limits in a way that studying for medical school no longer would.
In an interview with the Going Mental Podcast, she explained that she wanted to look back at her life and know that she had pushed herself and challenged herself.
Barey was eligible to return to the University of Miami to play basketball, but decided to pursue her career in porn instead because she felt there were more opportunities outside of basketball.
Her success on TikTok and OnlyFans led to her being offered a Name, Image, Likeness deal with the WWE.
Although she has made a drastic career change, Barey believes that it was the right decision for her and that being a porn star requires more than studying what your teacher tells you to study and putting in the hours.
