Tiffany Haddish has broken her silence over a lawsuit accusing her and Aries Spears of child sex assault.
Haddish acknowledged in an Instagram post on Monday that people “had a lot of questions” but said she had “very little” to say owing to the current lawsuit.
Haddish commented, “Clearly, despite the fact that this sketch was intended to be humorous, it was not funny at all, and I regret having agreed to participate in it.”
She said, “I look forward to sharing a great deal more about this circumstance as soon as I can.” The comment section for Haddish’s post was disabled.
According to a lawsuit filed on Tuesday, Haddish and Spears are accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl and her 7-year-old brother on different occasions.
The action, which was obtained by Insider, was filed pro se by a 22-year-old anonymous Jane Doe who claimed that Haddish and Spears abused her 15-year-old brother during a 2014 video shoot.
The lawsuit claims that the boy was included in a video titled “Through A Pedophile’s Eyes” that depicted Spears “lusting after the 7-year-old child and abusing him throughout the film.” The lawsuit also stated that Haddish was present during the sketch’s taping.
Haddish was accused of approaching Jane Doe during a comedy summer camp in 2013 and encouraging her to mimic sexually explicit behaviors on camera. According to the lawsuit, the girl complied in order to return home.
Haddish’s attorney told Insider that the plaintiff’s mother has been “attempting to raise these baseless claims against Ms. Haddish for years.” The attorney representing Spears told People that his client “is not susceptible to intimidation.”
Insider did not immediately receive a response to its request for comment from a representative of Haddish.
