Three suspects are being sought by Gauteng police after they allegedly opened fire

Three suspects are being sought by Gauteng police after they allegedly opened fire on a group of people in Eldorado Park, Johannesburg, on Wednesday, June 8.

SHOOTING IN ELDORADO PARK

Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo, a spokesperson for the South African Police Service (SAPS), said the shooting happened around 12:00 a.m.

According to Masondo, the preliminary investigation indicates that the three suspects pulled up next to one of the Eldorado Park flats and opened fire at random.

“Four people were injured, with gunshot wounds. “Three of the victims, two of whom were students, were taken to a nearby hospital,” a police spokesperson said.

The victims in the hospital are said to be in a serious but stable condition. The fourth victim was only slightly hurt.

The cause of the shooting has yet to be determined. Members of the public who have information about the case are encouraged to call their local police station or Crime Stop at 08600-10111.

On Tuesday night, June, four men were shot and killed in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, in an unrelated incident.

At around 19:00, the assailants entered Madiba Supermarket on R588 Sulani Drive and fired several gunshots.

Inside the supermarket, three men died. The fourth was taken to a hospital for treatment, but died as a result of his gunshot wounds.

The cause of the shooting has yet to be determined, and no arrests have been made as of yet.
