Sharjah Crown Prince chairs meeting of Police Sciences Academy Council

SHARJAH, 9th June, 2022 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Police Sciences Academy Council Thursday, chaired the council’s meeting, which was held at the Academy’s headquarters in the University City of Sharjah.

At the beginning of the meeting, Sharjah Crown Prince praised the Academy’s efforts, which contributed to renewing the academic accreditation from the Ministry of Education, and its interest in scientific research and training outcomes, as the Academy was able to achieve standards of excellence in education and quality in all of its programmes.

Sharjah Crown Prince praised the achievements of the Academy’s administration and its educational and training bodies, and their constant and relentless efforts to develop programmes in various educational, research, training and administrative fields, and at the highest levels achieved by the Academy as one of the most important security educational institutions at the state and regional levels.

The council discussed a number of topics on its agenda related to academic affairs in all administrative, academic and training aspects, and was briefed on the most prominent achievements and projects that the academy is working on.

During the meeting, the Council approved the acceptance of a new batch of student officers in the Bachelor’s Programme in Police Sciences, and was briefed on the new conditions developed by the Academy for the registration and acceptance of new students, in line with the aspirations of the Academy, and its policy aimed at enhancing its position, and enabling it to develop a unique and distinct model for security and police education in the region.

The Council was also briefed on a number of the Academy’s achievements in various fields, including the results and indicators of the performance of the competency development department, and its endeavour to develop innovative training programmes in partnership with the most prestigious international training centres and institutions, which would positively reflect on the quality of the outputs, and the development of the skills of employees.

The meeting also reviewed the outputs of the digital development project for competencies in its first phase, which was launched in the year 2021, and achieved great success, and great praise from the project’s affiliates.

The meeting was attended by Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police and Deputy Chairman of the Council, Brigadier Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Brigadier Abdullah Ibrahim bin Nassar, Salem Obaid Al Hassan Al Shamsi, Sultan Ali bin Butti Al Muhairi, Sultan Muhammad Obaid Al Hajri and Brigadier Dr. Muhammad Khamis Al-Othmani, Director General of the Academy, and Lt. Col. Mohammed Hamad Al-Suwaidi, Rapporteur of the Council.
